Welcome.
This is the site forum. I expect the forum to be an essential part of the site, as on www.allotments-uk.com and www.allotment.org.uk. (On the former, the main site is just about dead, but the forum continues to do well).

It should all be working. You should be able to post without registering (we'll review that), but if you do register you get an internal private message location to email fellow members - useful (but not essential) for seed swaps, equipment and surplus selling, etc.

Please let me have ANY feedback. I mean not just reports of bugs, but aesthetic judgements, usability, etc. The whole site is still a prototype, and we may end up going with phpBB instead of Simpleforum.

Paul - sorry, I deleted your test messages accidentally. Oh well.

Thanks. Most of the work's by the army of software geeks who do things like this and the wiki for free or nearly free. Here's to them!

Re: Welcome.
I'd like to post something on the events part of the site but I'm not sure how to do that - I don't have email, nor a computer - anyhow: on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH 3pm - 7pm: ALLOTMENT & GARDEN PRODUCE SHOW with LOCAL FOOD FESTIVAL and also "FOOD Inc" FILM at Hanover Community Centre, Southover Street.
Please bring your lovely foodstuff that you've grown - to display & celebrate the wonderful abundance of food at this time of year. (You could also bring fruit, flowers & herbs to display). There will be a table for swapping surplus produce!
The event & film is free, there will be tea, cakes & lovely savouries to eat. Also lots of information on where you can buy lovely local food and organic stuff.
The 'Food Inc' film is a documentary that "uses style and humour" & interviews to look at the food industries - how what we eat affect ourselves & people in other countries: culturally, ethically, economically, and environmentally. The film also looks at - industrial methods of production, patenting of seeds, agricultural subsidies, exploitation of food industry workers... the real cost of the food we eat.
If you would like to get involved in the event as an individual, community group or food supplier, please contact Jackie on 01273 240044. The event is organised by Sarah, Caroline, Les, Sue & Jackie from the FOOD FOR CHANGE group - part of a Hanover 'Transition' Action Group.

Hi, Jackie.

Now on "Events". I suggest you also email Melanie, the webeditor at BHAF - she's always looking for news, and BHAF gets more visits than us. She'll also add it to their newsletter. Email lowerroedalerep@googlemail.com

But I'm going to move your post to the Announcements forum - "Welcome" isn't really the right place, and it'll get more readers there. I'll wait until you read this and acknowledge - otherwise you'll probably think I deleted it.

Thanks again for the info.
